First official hike of the season

Lucy and I finished our first official hike of the season up Wachusett earlier this morning and it was a great one. A few "Notes to self":
If you aren't aware of the bird "conversations" and frequently find yourself surprised by the terrain under your feet, people coming up in front/behind you, or an occasional pull on the leash from the dog you apparently brought with you, you're missing the whole f'ing point.
Don't be "the lady taking a selfie on the observation plat...form". You know, the one who takes the selfie and doesn't move out of the way until she's updated her FB status AND verified that the picture uploaded, AND "liked" said post, AND commented on said post, AND then gives the guy - who is standing there with a dog waiting (oh so very very patiently) - a dirty look for saying "don't forget to "like" your comment too". (Ok, I didn't actually say that but it was a close call)...
The average minutes per mile feature on "map my walk" is evil, as is the voice announcing how slow you're walking. For some reason it always decides to wait until I'm walking with a group of strangers to announce "ELAPSED TIME: 42 MINUTES, PACE: 21 MINUTES PER MILE"!
Unlike the vast majority of the rest of Massachusetts, it is considered socially acceptable to say hi to and (gasp) make eye contact with strangers who just happen to be walking along the same path...

BTW, I'm planning to hike up Wachusett every Sunday morning this summer (same as last fall) starting earlyish in the morning and it usually only takes 90 minutes round trip. If anyone wants to join me, send me a DM and I'll let you know which trail and when (changes from week to week).
And now yard work..
